Located at the corner of Wharncliffe Road South and Bradley Avenue, the new Volkswagen dealership reimagines how automotive retail connects with the city. Instead of the typical car-first model, where parking lots dominate the street edge, the project establishes a strong urban presence defined by architecture that intentionally contrasts with the conventional exterior open-lot showroom.
The two-storey facility is organized around an open plan bringing together a showroom, reception, visitor lounge and sales areas. Floor-to-ceiling glazing defines the elevations, paired with white aluminum composite panels giving the building a contemporary architectural expression that reflects the precision of automotive design. Brand elements, including signature blue seating, are integrated throughout the interior.
A pedestrian pathway wraps the perimeter of the building, connecting entrances along both street frontages, with parking, vehicle storage, and service areas located at the rear of the site to maintain a consistent street edge. A centrally located drive-through garage provides convenient access to the service area for both customers and staff. With its focus on transparency, street engagement, and refined detailing, the project sets a new standard for how automotive spaces can contribute to urban life.
