While all of the buildings that were designed by aTRR are both functional and architecturally beautiful, the [Athletics and Fitness Complex & NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre] will forever change the landscape of Lambton College. They are two of the most attractive, open and inviting buildings in the Ontario College System…We could not be happier with McMichael Ruth and aTRR and would recommend them for any commercial designs, large scale or small.

We believe that aTRR took a very collaborative approach throughout the design process, and was patient during the various iterations required to fit all that we wished to accomplish into one building envelope. We felt that aTRR appreciated the history of Boler in the community, and understood the core values and vision which the Board expressed. There was an ability on the part of aTRR to listen to our staff and to Board members, and to understand Boler’s operations and programs to ensure that the final design was functional and efficient.

McMichael, who was the Architect for the office project, was very much in tune with what our vision was for a new office space. His unique vision to connect the two spaces in a fluid and open concept was very well executed. Using a 3D video model to give us a virtual walk through was extremely helpful for our faculty and staff to get a real sense of the new space. It was a brilliant approach. The feedback we received from internal and external guest even a year after are very positive and the space is trend setting for the rest of Humber College.

Throughout the design process the YMCA found aTRR to be mindful of our programmatic needs while challenging us to consider the allocation and use of space in innovative ways. The end result is a stunning, practical and efficient building that inspires and cements the YMCA’s position as a hub of community.

Throughout the project, we have come to rely on aTRR for their professionalism, their prompt response time, their ability to navigate the array of stakeholder feedback, their eye for design and efficient use of space, their solution focused resolve, and their enthusiasm. Their commitment to the success of this project has not waivered since the moment they were hired.

The Municipality’s experience with architects Tillmann Ruth Robinson, specifically Scott Robsinson, has been a positive experience. Scott has always made himself available for meetings and phone discussions and has provided valued expertise in answering questions raised throughout this process…The facility being constructed reflects the vision of the community and extends its life expectancy for generations to come.

Tom and his team were very responsive to our own ideas about the design and functionality of the building, and many of our ideas found their way into the final plans. The end result is a revitalized building that has had a very positive impact on our Department and become a centerpiece of the University.

From the outset, Scott understood the process of working with our clans, nations and our People. Through conversations, walking through the valley and carefully listening to our ideas and stories, we embarked on a journey together that was both enjoyable and fruitful. His leadership and patience in the many visioning sessions allowed for deep and meaningful engagement that was very much appreciated. He allowed the process to reveal a design that we determined together and that specifically speaks to our culture, values and jurisdiction.

The Peterborough YMCA has become a vibrant centre for recreational and leisure activity and has been fondly embraced by both our membership and the community at large

Their honest and practical approach to the project enabled us to meet our budget and schedule goals while also completing a project to be proud of.
