Bridge Entrance and Campus Shop

The dated entrance most used by students accessing Lambton College’s South Building will soon reflect the student-focused space that embodies the College’s learning/life experience by creating a series of cohesive entrances to the South Building that includes Health & Wellness to the north and the Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technologies to the south.

A gentle and generous ramp will lead to the new entry that opens into a new double height lobby/lounge that is transparent and naturally lit. As the entry will remain a high-traffic area, Lambton is locating College services here, along with the front desk, security and marketing functions as well as the relocated Campus Shop to ensure that opportunities for engagement and collaboration is leveraged in a safe and purposeful space. Views of the new 70-seat active learning Classroom on the floor above will provide a connection to formal learning environments. Accessed off of the entry, the College Shop and Bookstore will be a double height space that is contiguous with the Lobby/Lounge and a secondary entrance will help with the extra demands in September. New gender neutral washrooms will support Lambton’s commitment to support the College’s transgender and transitioning community.

Other features include a contemporary outdoor terrace, a refurbished greenhouse, recladding of portions of the exterior with wood and the integration of new graphics including a programmable backlit panel at the renewed entrance.
