Memorial Park Pool

The replacement of an outdoor pool and bathhouse will transform a much-loved but outdated aquatic facility into a contemporary community asset.

The revitalization of Memorial Park Pool, in Welland, will create a modern recreational facility that is both accessible and code complaint. A considered approach will revamp existing pool infrastructure, while introducing a new pool tank, a new concrete pool deck, new landscaping and shade structures, and a new kids’ area, creating a space able to serve and be utilized by all.

The 50-metre multiuse pool delivers four lanes for lap swimming, areas for fitness and leisure activities, as well as teaching steps for lessons and instruction. The children’s wading area offers a beach entry with water features and bubblers, encouraging playfulness and safety.  

Zero-depth entry, an accessible ramp, AODA-compliant handrails, and fully-accessible changerooms, showers, and washrooms ensure that the facility can serve all community members — regardless of age and ability.
